Misalignments (also called subluxations ) are problems in the spine where an abnormal position or movement of the vertebrae disturbs communication within the Central Nervous System causing a disturbance in the body. These disturbances can manifest in various way. You may feel discomfort, tension, numbness, pain, or struggle with decreased range of motion.
The Thermal Scan measures skin temperature along the spine. When the communication between the nervous system and the blood vessels is disturbed, it causes the body’s thermostat to malfunction producing an imbalanced temperature reading along the spine. The thermal scan provides us with information to monitor the autonomic system for proper function. The Surface Electromyography Scan measures the electrical current found in the muscles. When misalignments disturb the function of the nerve an abnormal amount of electrical current flows through the muscles. As a result of this disturbance the muscles can become weaker or stronger, tighter, or fatigued. The abnormal muscle pattern on the scan reveals an increased amount of tension/pull on one side compared to the other. |
The work of the chiropractor is to detect areas of disturbance where misalignments are causing problems, and then realign the body to a balanced, better functioning, more comfortable position.
